Residential Recycling Services
Stutzman Refuse Disposal has the only Single Stream Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Central Kansas. Our facility is a key component in the residential recycling services we provide our customers (and the state) by allowing us to collect and process recyclables on-site. Our glass recycling process is innovative and processes mixed glass, crushing it to a sand-like mixture and then ships to Johns Manville in McPherson, KS, which turns it into fiberglass insulation.

Single Stream Recycling
Recycling is a great way for you to have a positive impact on the world we live in. Diverting waste from landfills through recycling is important to both the natural environment and us.
Since 2020 we have been using AI powered robot sorters, keeping us on the cutting edge of available technology.
Our recycling facility can process up to 100 tons per day of single stream residential and commercial recycling. Currently, we operate 1 shift per day, processing most of the single stream material collected in South Central and Central Kansas.
Public outreach and education is very important to us. We offer tours of the facility to groups that are interested. Call us to discuss setting up a tour for your group.
Our residential recycling services are voluntary and simple to participate in. In some cities, recycling is included with the cost of trash disposal. In rural areas, there is a small fee for the residential recycling cart and monthly collection by Stutzman Refuse Disposal.
Residential Recycling Service Frequency
Municipality recycling carts are serviced every other week, while most rural routes receive residential recycling services once a month.
